Muslims celebrate two eids one is Eid-al-Fitr and second is eid-ul-Adha. The hajj corresponds to the Eid-ul-Azha or Eid-ul-Adha observances is the day or a festival of sacrifice of halal animals like goats, sheep, lambs, cows, bulls and camel etc in remembrance of Abraham’s readiness to sacrifice his son on God’s behest.
Muslims all around the world celebrate eid-ul-Adha on 10th of Dhul Hijjah.
Every Muslim, who has the means, is to sacrifice an animal in the way of God, after the Eid prayers. At least one-third of the meat can be shared by the family, relatives and neighbours of the owner of the animal.
Date and Day of Eid-ul-Adha 2019:
Eid-ul-Adha 2019 will be celebrated on Sunday 11th and 12th August 2019 in different Muslim countries of the world respectively.
How Eid-ul-Adha is celebrated:
The night before the first day of eid is known as Chand RAT. On chand rat many people go towards market to purchase animal for Qurbani, hustle and bustle can be seen in markets, girls buy bangles, jewlery and mehndi to celebrate eid.
On the day of eid a special kind of salah known as Eid Salah is offered by the male Muslims in mosques, after this salah they pray for the happiness, peace and prosperity not only for Muslim Ummah but also for their country.
The most important thing of Eid-ul-Adha is Qurbani. Muslims who offer Qurbani slaughter animals after Salah or Nimaz-e-Eidin the name of Allah Almighty and to celebrate Hazrat Ibrahim’s attempt to sacrifice his son and his actual sacrifice of a sheep.
The meat of the sacrificed animal is preferred to be divided into three parts, one is to be distributed among the poor and needy, second is for relatives and the third one for for themselves or family.
Sharing of meat with others shows the Muslim’s generosity. In this way, the Muslims show practically that they are ready to sacrifice their all for God, for their religion or for the society or the country if it is demanded.
Dishes which add more Sweetness into Eid:
Eid-ul-Adha is also known as Bari Eid or Eid-e-Qurban, women cook sweet dishes to welcome eid. Sawayan or Sheer khurma is cooked especially to eat in the eid morning. Apart from Sheerkhurma other dishes which are cooked on eid days are Cakes, mithaii, Palao, kaleji and many other traditional dishes.
Guests, family friends and love ones visit each other homes to greet each other, because eid is celebrated for three consecutive days so families arrange get together to meet and greet and divide the happiness of eid.
